Read on for a round-up of Wycombe Wanderers Ladies Under 18 sides' recent fixtures...

Wantage U18 0-4 Wycombe Wanderers X1 U18

Wycombe created some good opportunities with Ball missing an early ‘one on one’ with the keeper, who saved well with her feet, Frankie Day had some long range shots which threatened the goal, and Baker made some good runs down the right flank producing crosses which led to goalmouth scrambles.

Wycombe finally took the lead on the half hour, with one of Day’s shots from outside of the box which dipped over the keeper and under the bar. Wycombe’s possession and switching of play was wearing the opposition down but not producing goals. Wycombe went in at half time one nil up.

Wycombe changed to three at the back in the second half with the pattern of the first half continuing, but Wycombe had more space in attacking areas as the opposition tired. Wycombe scored a further three goals, with Ball, Chowdhry and Davis all scoring. The pick of those goals was Chowdhry’s first time side foot finish from Ball’s left wing cross, after she had broken through with a driving run between the Wantage defenders.

The final score of 4-0 reflected the possession that Wycombe had, and the fact that again the goals were shared by four different goalscorers again reflected the ‘team nature’ of Wycombe’s attacking play.

Team: Whittle, Winfield, Wheller, Orchard, Shah, Baker, Day, Poland, Johnston, Chowdhry, Ball

Subs: Davis

Binfield U18 1v 1 Wycombe Wanderers U18

The match started with both sides trying to play a passing game on the new 4G surface but ended up neutralizing each other. This turned the play scrappy with Wycombe struggling to maintain possession and Binfield looking much more dangerous in attack.

Binfield took the lead midway through the half with a high speculative lob turned into an unstoppable effort.

For the second half the Blues were set the challenge of quickening all aspects of their play and to keep the ball more effectively. This gradually dividends Harrington and Wyncoll working hard to create chances.

Good debuts by Danielle Coward and Ellie Haarburger who contributed to the improving Wycombe side. Ellie made some promising runs down the left and combined with Kylie Woodward for the equaliser, a cool finish by Woodward past the advancing keeper.

The Blues continued to press and were unlucky not to take all three points.

Team: Eames, Priest, Knock, Boddy, Johnson, Woodward, Wyncoll, Carter, Steel (C), Harrington, Woods.

Subs: Coward, Haarburger
