Following the sad death of our friend and Ex-Players Association Treasurer Kathy Hutchinson on March 4, the funeral will take place on Tuesday March 27 at St Dunstan's Church, Cores End Rd, Bourne End, Bucks SL8 5AR (2pm). A family-only interment will be followed by a reception at Adams Park.
Alan Hutchinson, deeply touched by the deluge of cards and messages the family has received, asks that there should be family flowers only. But donations can be made to the Oxford Kidney Unit, where Kathy spent so much time following her transplant 26 years ago. These can be sent via Sheila Otway, Renal Unit, Churchill Hospital, Old Rd, Headington, Oxford OX3 7LJ.
Hutch, our WWEPA Chairman, and sons Geoff and Richard have been overwhelmed by the calls they have received from Wanderers’ friends of the past 70 years with current boss Gareth Ainsworth, ex-managers and officials among those expressing their sympathy at his loss. Players from all eras have been in touch too:
Mike Wicks (1953-59): “Kathy was a wonderful lady behind the scenes and will be sadly missed by so many of us connected with the club from the 50s onwards like myself.”
Glyn Creaser (1988-95): “I know all the players had a lot of time for Hutch and will be saddened themselves by the loss of Kathy. They were both certainly part of the team that realised success during my time at the club and were a formidable team in their own right.”
Alan welcomes all in a fortnight’s time.
