Gareth Ainsworth has secured the return to Adams Park of another of last season’s promotion-winning stars, with Randell Williams signing a loan deal from Watford until January 2nd.
The forward made a lasting impression in his six appearances after joining on loan in January, excelling on his debut for the club in the 2-1 win over Grimsby and scoring a vital winning goal at Yeovil.
Williams, 21, links up with the squad again in time for the Chairboys’ final pre-season friendly at Maidenhead United on Friday evening, ahead of the start of the Sky Bet League 1 season next weekend.
Ainsworth said: “Randell had to be patient for his chance after he joined us but he overcame an injury to earn his place in the side and we were really impressed with what we saw.
“His pace and ability to run with the ball scared teams and we saw that he’s got a very good end product too, scoring an important goal for us at Yeovil.
“He gives us another exciting option in attack and we believe he can continue to develop his game with us over the coming months, so we’re delighted to have him back.”
Randell becomes Wanderers’ fourth summer signing, with former loanee Curtis Thompson making a return to Adams Park on a deal until January, while Ryan Allsop and Darius Charles have also arrived on permanent deals.
