The January transfer window is now open – and Gareth Ainsworth’s budget to work with has been boosted by over £25,000 thanks to contributions by supporters to the 500 Club initiative.
More than 160 fans have signed up to the 500 Club – now in its second year – which has the sole aim of raising funds to be spent on new players or new contracts to existing players.
Throughout the month of December, contributors were rewarded in a series of prize draws, with the following supporters being selected at random:
Richard Glenister – WWFC signed football
Steve Knight – Football Manager 18 PC game, signed by Gareth Ainsworth
Alan Fryer – Director for the Day package
Keith Higgins – 20% off shop voucher
David Riddington – 2018 calendar signed by the team
Richard Townsend – pair of Scott Brown’s gloves
Paul Churchett – deliver match ball at a home game
Gareth Cook – personalised plaque
Elizabeth Lowe – 2018 calendar signed by the team
Derek Budd – personalised plaque
Philip Bate – Director for the Day package
The most recent winners were presented with their prizes by Gareth Ainsworth ahead of kick-off when the Blues faced Mansfield Town at Adams Park on Saturday (David Cook collected the prize on behalf of his son Gareth, who was unable to attend).
There’s still time to play your part – visit 500wanderers.co.uk for more details on how to sign up.
