Randell Williams rattled home his third goal of the campaign to clinch the 1-0 victory over Barnsley at Adams Park on Saturday and says he’s eager to add more goals to his tally as the season progresses.
The forward had gone 10 games without a goal since netting the opener at Charlton in September but grabbed the headlines with a superb swerving effort from the edge of the box to help the Chairboys rack up a sixth consecutive home league victory.
“It’s been a long time coming!” he said afterwards. “My last goal was at Charlton but I’m happy to get on the scoresheet again. I want to do it more often and hopefully now I can get on a good run.
Meanwhile Dominic Gape shared the belief that the Wanderers were full value for their win, overcoming one of the favourites for promotion with a professional display.
“1-0 is the perfect scoreline apparently so we’ll take that all day!” he said. “I thought we edged it in terms of working their keeper and our game plan has come into play nicely. We were in the zone, we had a good week training and it just showed that the boys do it right, live right and keep themselves fit.
“The sky’s the limit for us. If you look at the fixtures we’ve had and the results we’ve picked up, it just shows you what we’re capable of when we can go and win six in a row at home.”
