Nathan Tyson was on target as the Chairboys edged to a 1-0 victory over MK Dons in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday afternoon.
The striker converted Ebere Eze’s powerful cross from close range soon into the second half to clinch the win against a youthful Dons outfit at Wanderers’ training ground.
Eze had the game’s first chance, forcing a smart save low down by the visitors’ keeper, while Tyson and Nick Freeman also went close before the break.
Tyson remained a threat in the second period, sending a header on target from a cross after good play down the wing by Freeman, who then almost broke the deadlock with a chance of his own from Jack Williams’ delivery.
The only goal came on 55 minutes when Eze drove at the Dons’ left-back and laid on the chance for Tyson to find the net, while further opportunities fell the way of Will De Havilland, Dayle Southwell and Luke O’Nien before the end, while Dons’ best effort from Robbie Muirhead was superbly saved at the other end.
