Using the car? These are the recommended road directions

Take the normal route to the northbound M6 (M40 and M42). Continue on the M6 as far as J43. At the Rosehill roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A69. The blue roof of the Pioneer Foods stand can be seen on the right hand side, almost as soon as you leave the roundabout.  Keep going straight ahead along Warwick Road. After passing through the third set of traffic lights, you come to the ground on your right hand side. The Club Shop and Hugh McIlmoyle statue mark the main entrance to the ground.

Mileage from High Wycombe = 287 (average journey time 4 hours 35 minutes)

Suggested car parking area

From the M6 turn right at the 3rd set of traffic lights and drive through the gates and behind the Pioneer Foods Stand to enter the car park. Cars are charged £3.00. Otherwise there is some street parking available.

Travelling by coach?

OWWSA will be running a coach that will leave Adams Park at 12 noon. Travel prices will be £33 for members. Non members are required to pay at the time of booking their seat. If you wish to book by phone (Rena 01494 520179, Graham 07876 267301) or by e-mail (bookings@owwsa.co.uk) you need to do so by Sunday 15th October at 5pm.

Fancy using the train?

As this is an evening fixture, there is no return available on the day, the last southbound departure from Carlisle being 20:07 hours. If you are using the train to travel up on the day, Virgin Trains operate a regular direct service from London Euston with the quickest journey time 3 hours 16 minutes. Walking directions from Carlisle Citadel Station are as follows. Walk straight ahead across Botchergate and walk along The Crescent until you see the start of Warwick Road on the right, next to Nandos. Brunton Park is about a 20 minute walk from the start of Warwick Road.

Facilities for away fans

Away fans are usually housed on one side of the Pioneer (East) Stand (towards the Petterill End). This is a relatively new covered and all seated stand located at one side of the pitch. It has food and drink outlets in the concourse underneath. The view of the playing area is good. Away fans can purchase tickets from the away ticket office behind the East Stand.

Spare time before or after match?

The nearest hostelry to the ground is ‘The Beehive’ on Warwick Road. This tends to get very busy on match days. There is also the ‘Howard Arms’ on Lowther Street. This is just off Warwick Road, towards the Town Centre, down from the ‘White House’. Another option is the Carlisle Rugby Club next to Brunton Park on Warwick Road which has a club bar, allows in away supporters, and is family friendly. Finally if you leave the M6 at Junction 43 and take the A69 towards Carlisle, you will pass a Toby pub/carvery which is not that far from the ground. At the ground there is a bar in the away section of the concourse.
