The Tesco bags of help grant to support WWSET fit & fed project

11 May 2017

Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust are hoping to bag a cash boost from the “Tesco Bags of Help” initiative.

Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust are hoping to bag a cash boost from the “Tesco Bags of Help” initiative to deliver our new “Fit and Fed” project, designed to help combat holiday hunger and increase physical activity during the summer holidays.

The “Tesco Bags of Help” initiative awards grants of up to £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – to environmental and greenspace projects.

From now until Friday 30th June shoppers at Tesco stores across High Wycombe will be invited to collect blue tokens at the till when they pay for their shopping, and vote in-store for the group they want to receive the top grant. Every other month, when votes are counted, three groups in each of Tesco’s regions will be awarded funding and we would love for you to support us!

The Tesco Bags of Help Grant will allow WWSET to deliver the “Fit and Fed”  project, which aims to help families who struggle to feed their children during the holidays. Our project will work with local schools and families to provide a community hub serving free and healthy meals, help participating families learn how to cook healthy cheap meals themselves, and also allow them the opportunity to take part in physical activities to try and keep everyone.… “Fit and Fed”!

We would really appreciate your support by voting for us with your Blue Coins in Tesco stores so we can deliver this worthwhile community project. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact us via email on community@wwfc.com.
