Weston: A winning run is just around the corner

15 March 2017

Myles Weston believes the team can take the positives from the draw with Plymouth Argyle into their play-off charge.

Weston made a goalscoring return to the starting XI on Tuesday night, rifling home after Michael Harriman found the winger at the far post with 18 minutes played. Sadly it was not to be the winner as second half substitute Nathan Blissett levelled up for the visitors.

After creating many openings against one of the league's front runners, Weston feels the team will take confidence from that result and take it into the final nine games of the season.

"I think we were the better team today." The midfielder said, speaking after the game.

"We conceded from a set piece which is a bit disappointing, but I think the lads have done well today so we can take the positives out of that.

"I just feel that we've just got to keep on working and keep on grinding it out and the wins are going to come again.

"I truly believe we can go on another run like we did before and that could get us in the play-offs."

Weston gave an impressive display in his first start in the league since January on Tuesday night, and after suffering with injuries for parts of the season, the 29-year-old is hoping he can finish the season strong.

"It's good to get a start." He added.

"I think the squad is very good so my starts have been limited, and when I came back from injury we went 16 games unbeaten so you can't really go the gaffer and say "put me in the team" beacuse the team is doing so well.

"I'm happy he gave me a chance and hopefully I can stay in the team now after getting a goal."
