Blackman keen to show play-off credentials v Argyle

14 March 2017

A penalty saving hero at the weekend, Jamal Blackman wants to add a few more clean sheets in the Chairboys' push for the top-seven.

Although it is yet to be seen how crucial Blackman's heroics against Blackpool at the weekend may be come May, it did put the Chairboys one point closer to the play-off pack and stretch their unbeaten run to three matches.

Standing in the way of Blues extending that run is high-flying Plymouth Argyle, who come to Adams Park on Tuesday night (7:45pm kick off) sitting in second position in the Sky Bet League Two standings.

The Chelsea loanee, who has kept 13 clean sheets in all competitions so far this season, is hoping for another strong showing on home turf.

"We've had a rocky patch recently and that point (on Saturday v Blackpool) made sure we stay involved." Blackman said referring to Wanderers' play-off charge.

"Plymouth are doing so well at the moment, and we just want to show that we are a team that can compete for a play-off position.

"With us being at home again where we are quite solid I think it will be a good game.

"We just need to keep going, we need to keep as many clean sheets as possible, and obviously penalty saves contribute to that as well, but that is the main thing and that is what we have to try to do."
