Preview: Aldershot vs Wycombe (22/07, 3pm)

21 July 2017

Gareth Ainsworth's men take on Aldershot Town in their thir pre-season friendly ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

The game at the EBB Stadium will see the Chairboys come up against former Wycombe boss, Gary Waddock's Shots side, who will be looking to mount a promotion push in the season ahead after missing out via the play-offs last time around.

Team news
Gareth Ainsworth will look to get more minutes in the legs of his players in this fixture as the new season draws near. Adebayo Akinfenwa will feature once again after getting 20 minutes in the 2-1 victory over QPR U23s in a behind closed doors friendly.

In opposition Gary Waddock is expected to include a number of trialists in his squad this weekend, although Foday Nabay has returned to Fulham and left-back Frazer Shaw has been released.

What the managers say

Gareth Ainsworth: "We're looking forward to the challenge, we've got three pre-season games left and all our eyes are now firmly on the 5th August and making sure we're ready for that."

Gary Waddock: "It will be a very tough test as Gareth has done an excellent job there.

"They just missed out last year on the play-offs and they've been in and around it for the last few years, so it is a benchmark for us to see where we are."

Wanderers will be wearing the light and dark blue home kit, with the home goalkeeper strip.
