Blues boss Gareth Ainsworth says the renovation of the changing rooms at Adams Park signals a step forward for the club as they set their sights on future success.
Ainsworth’s players received a pleasant surprise when they arrived ahead of kick-off for the friendly against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night, finding that the changing room had been extended with new booths installed and a warm-up room created behind.
The renovations over the summer included an extension to the away changing room as well, completing a series of works which saw the creation of two new changing facilities for match officials, to accommodate both male and female referees and assistants, in line with EFL guidelines.
The manager said: “We want to align everything we do with this plan to becoming a better team and a better club, and we want to aspire to reaching League 1 standards so it’s great to give the players a changing room like this.”
“I’d like to thank Ivor Beeks and his team, Mark (builder), Damian (commercial manager) and everyone who’s worked hard to get it ready. It was a nice moment when the lads walked in – the room is much bigger, much more professional, and just shows that we want to be better every year.”
