Chairboys embark on three-day camp at RAF Digby

Gym, football, team building and climbing on day one.

10 July 2017

The Chairboys squad kicked off a three-day ‘boot camp’ style trip to RAF Digby with a variety of activities on an action-packed day one.

Gareth Ainsworth and his staff led the players to the site near Lincoln where they combined team-building events with physical and football training sessions as their preparations for the new season moved up a gear.

Beginning in the gym with four different tasks, led by staff from the RAF base as well as the club’s own medical squad, the players then moved outside for a series of drills including 4v4 matches and a crossing and finishing routine.

After dinner, the group embarked on trust exercises, catching team-mates falling backwards from gym equipment, before testing out their basketball skills and then assisting each other in teams of three up and down a climbing wall.
