Wycombe Wanderers are delighted to announce that defender Anthony Stewart has signed a contract extension with the club, which will keep him at Adams Park until the summer of 2020.
The Wanderers academy graduate had triggered a one-year extension during last season, but has now agreed to commit his future to the club by a further two years.
Stewart made his professional debut for the Chairboys in the 3-2 defeat at Preston North End in January 2012 and across two spells at the club has consolidated his position in the heart of the Wycombe defence; making 137 appearances in all competitions.
Manager Gareth Ainsworth has spoken of his delight of Anthony extending his stay saying "It's brilliant news that Anthony has signed a new deal at the club.
"He has developed from a youth team player into an integral part of the team, and securing a player of his quality is a real statement of intent by the club and shows that Anthony believes in what we are trying to do here.
"At 24-years-old, Anthony's best years are still ahead of him and no doubt he will have a big part to play in the season ahead.
"He is learning all the time and having someone of Adam El-Abd's experience alongside him will be massive in terms of his development."
The news of Anthony Stewart's contract extension was exclusively revealed to attendees of the Fans Forum at Adams Park on Monday night.
