Report: Wycombe 2-1 NewportWanderers kicked off 2017 with a 2-1 win after falling behind to Newport County, thanks to stunning strikes from Sam Wood and Paris Cowan-Hall.
The hosts dominated throughout and looked certain to break down the Exiles' resistance, but a shock was delivered on the hour-mark when Mark Randall capitalised on a defensive mistake to fire past Scott Brown.
But the introduction of Scott Kashket, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Paris Cowan-Hall from the bench breathed new life into the game and it was Akinfenwa's flick on which laid on the opportunity for Wood to send a spectacular scissor-kick into the top corner.
And with 10 minutes remaining, Cowan-Hall spotted keeper Joe Day off his line and beat him with an exquisite chip from 40 yards, completing the comeback to stretch the unbeaten run to 10 league games.
Full report to come.
