Heroes return for Monty's tribute

19 January 2017

Stars from different generations of Monty Seymour’s 50 years as club president will return to Adams Park on Saturday to pay their respects ahead of the game against Luton.

Monty passed away last week at the age of 102, and will be remembered around the stadium in a minute’s silence before kick-off, with the likes of Tony Horseman, John Delaney and Keith Ryan in attendance, representing every decade from the 1950s onwards.

Members of Monty’s family have been invited to the game as special guests, hosted in the Beechdean executive box, while the Chairboys players will wear black armbands during the match.

The matchday programme includes six pages of tributes to the great man from a range of club representatives, and Monty’s image is displayed on the cover.

Supporters of both clubs are asked to respectfully observe the silence in memory of a president who played a hugely significant part in this club’s proud history over half a century.
