Wycombe Wanderers will issue strict punishments to individuals who are found to be targeting abuse at its staff, players or fellow supporters via online channels.
In relation to new guidance issued yesterday by the Crown Prosecution Service, the club has been made aware of recent incidents of anti-social behaviour online and will continue to monitor social media channels and take action where required.
A season ticket holder is currently suspended from Adams Park pending an investigation following inappropriate comments made online.
“We welcome the guidance from the CPS and urge anyone who witnesses such behaviour to come forward via our new SMS service or by reporting it to our stadium manager, Gordon Reilly.”
The SMS service is available to all supporters on matchdays at Adams Park, whereby fans can text a description of the incident to 07438 350176.
Stadium manager Gordon Reilly can be contacted via email on gordon.reilly@wwfc.com or by calling the club on 01494 472100. All supporters who come forward with information are treated with the utmost confidence.
