The next meeting of the Fans Council will include a discussion on the future of the Checkatrade Trophy, giving supporters the opportunity to share their views on the competition.Hosted in Monty's bar at Adams Park from 7.30pm, the meeting is open to all supporters, with a number of Trust directors lined up to attend.
Following a recent meeting held by the EFL, clubs will soon be asked to vote on the following options for the future of the Checkatade Trophy:
- A revised format including 16 invited teams;
- A return to the previous 48-team competition, exclusive to League One and Two;
- Remove the competition from the fixture calendar.
