Rock'n'roll football returns with Cherry Red Records

Rock’n’roll football is back at Adams Park with the start of a new partnership with independent record label Cherry Red Records, who come on board as the club’s new shorts sponsor.

The London-based company has won countless accolades in its 38-year history and have been involved in football sponsorship for over two decades, including sponsoring AFC Wimbledon’s home ground since 2006, as well as many different non-league divisions.

Their logo will now be emblazoned on the club’s home and change shorts for every league and cup match throughout the 2016/17 season, beginning with this Saturday’s match against Stevenage at Adams Park, completing a full set of sponsors across the Chairboys’ strips.

Head of Commercial Activities Damian Irvine said: “Cherry Red Records are solid supporters of Wycombe Wanderers and league football generally, particularly supporter-owned clubs like ours. They’ve shown real enthusiasm for working with us and many of our fans and staff are passionate supporters of independent music – not least our manager!

“In line with the strategy which our board and Chairman have focused the club towards, we’ve attracted new sponsors to the club and retained and upgraded those who have partnered with us for a number of years. It’s a proud achievement for us to have a ‘full house’ of sponsors across our kits for the first time in recent history with local businesses Beechdean, Origin Global and, and now Cherry Red Records.

“Over the past two or three years we have enjoyed some brilliant worldwide exposure thanks to the team’s on-field success and our leading example in traditional and social media coverage, which have placed our partners into the public eye. This has enabled us to strengthen our commercial foundations which will play a key role in the club’s journey towards sustainability and success under supporter ownership.”

Adam Velasco, managing director of Cherry Red Records, said: “I grew up in High Wycombe and I have been a fan since the non-league days at Loakes Park, so I am delighted we are now officially involved with the club and I sincerely hope we can help out for many years to come. We are proud to become a sponsor of the club and look forward to seeing our logo displayed on the team's shorts up and down the country at each match this season."

The partnership has been agreed for an initial term of one season, up to the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
