Close to 700 watch England snatch last-gasp winner

11 October 2016

England Under-19s secured a 2-1 win over Bulgaria in the dying seconds of their international fixture against Bulgaria at Adams Park on Monday night.

A crowd of 676 were treated to late drama as Chelsea starlet Dujon Sterling headed home in stoppage time to prevent the game from being decided by a penalty shootout after the visitors had pegged back the Young Lions in the second half.

England started the game on top and earned their opening goal when Tottenham's Marcus Edwards volleyed home after a fine passing move resulted in the ball bouncing into his path inside the area.

But the hosts were unable to capitalise on their momentum and succumbed to an equaliser when Dimitri Ivanov slotted home past Will Mannion midway through the second period.

A clumsy foul outside the area in the last minute gave West Brom midfielder Sam Field the opportunity to deliver a free-kick into the area and Sterling was on hand to nod home to make it back-to-back wins for Keith Downing's troops after a 3-1 triumph in Croatia last week.
