The Big Match Preview: Morecambe

11 November 2016

All you need to know ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League Two clash with Morecambe at Adams Park (k.o. 3pm).

Wycombe Wanderers vs Morecambe
Saturday 12th November 2016, k.o. 3pm
Adams Park, HP12 4HJ
Referee: Darren Handley

It's back to league action for the Chairboys after mixed fortunes in cup competitions in their past two outings - and a return to winning ways in the league would be a welcome boost to the Adams Park faithful.

Wanderers recorded four successive home wins at the end of September and into October, but their last two games on home soil have ended in defeat - the league setback against Barnet, and Wednesday's Checkatrade Trophy battle with Coventry.

However, they'll look to replicate the strength of their performances on the road at Doncaster and Portsmouth, where they scored twice in each game to underline the quality in the squad.

Their next challenge comes in the form of a Morecambe side sitting 12th in League Two, although Jim Bentley's men have had to overcome a delay in receiving wages for October, and losing star striker Tom Barkhuizen this week.

They include former Chairboy Peter Murphy in their ranks as they hunt a third win from three successive visits to Adams Park, while the Blues could field ex-Shrimp Garry Thompson, who helped the north-west club win promotion to the league nine years ago.

Gareth Ainsworth has selection headaches with most of his squad now fully fit and ready for action.
