Hearing Dogs receive club's share of Community Shield Fund

4 May 2016

Wanderers have nominated local charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People as the recipient of its share of the 2015 FA Community Shield Fund.

The funds are derived from the proceeds of the FA Community Shield fixture which takes place at Wembley Stadium at the start of each season, contested by the winners of the Premier League and FA Cup.

That money is then distributed amongst the 124 clubs which participate in the first round proper of the FA Cup, to be allocated to a local charity or community-based initiative of its choice.

Wycombe Wanderers selected Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, based locally in Saunderton, as the beneficiary of the £2,000 cheque, which was presented by club director Ivor Beeks to the charity's Chief Executive Michele Jennings and Financial Director Paul Hester at half-time of the fixture against Accrington Stanley last weekend.
