Bloomfield and Pierre keen to bounce back

11 March 2016

Matt Bloomfield and Aaron Pierre are keen to make amends after two frustrating away defeats as Wycombe return to Adams Park.

The Chairboys lost 1-0 at Newport on Saturday after a similarly narrow defeat at Cambridge, and the duo are keen to get back on track in tomorrow's clash with Stevenage (3pm k.o.).

Wycombe's home form has taken an up-turn recently and a good performance could see it become three home wins on the bounce.

Matt said: "We are usually quite confident going on the road but the last couple of results haven't been what we've wanted, so it's nice to get back to home surroundings and we will be looking to put on a performance for our home support.

"With a lot of games throughout the season it is the small margins that can be the difference between winning and losing so we need to make sure they go back in our favour.

"They haven't done in the last couple of games but we are looking forward to getting out there tomorrow and righting some wrongs from the last couple of weeks and we'll be fired up for that.

"We want to give the home fans something to cheer about and to do that in the last couple of home games has been great. We need to make sure our performance levels are high, and if they are the results will take care of themselves."

A bright note from the defeat in South Wales last week was the return from injury of Pierre, who had missed the previous three matches through a thigh injury.

The result didn't go the way he hoped but Aaron was pleased to be back on the pitch.

He said: "It was unfortunate on the result but to get 90 minutes under my belt after about three weeks out was good. This week hopefully the result is better.

"We need to put things right, have a big performance and make sure that we get the three points on Saturday."
