Marcus Bean puts pen to paper on new one-year deal

23 June 2016

Gareth Ainsworth’s squad for the 2016/17 season continues to take shape with the news that Marcus Bean has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at Adams Park.

The 31-year-old has played 53 times for the club since joining in January 2015, proving a consistent performer in the middle of the park and at times covering in defensive positions.

Ainsworth said: “We knew what we were getting when we signed Marcus and he’s certainly lived up to that in the 18 months he’s been with us. He’s an excellent ball-winner, he gives us absolutely everything when he’s on the pitch and he knows the game inside out, so his experience at higher levels has been invaluable, particularly working with the younger lads like Luke O’Nien and Danny Rowe.

“I’m delighted that he’s agreed to stay with us for another year, which strengthens our midfield options, and I’m happy with the way the squad is coming together with a few more additions still to come.”
