Defender Will De Havilland marked his Wanderers' debut with a goal against Aldershot on Tuesday and he is excited for the season ahead. The centre half, who signed a two-year deal on Tuesday, played the full 90 minutes as the Chairboys fell to a 2-1 defeat at the National League side.
He said: "It was my first full 90 minutes of pre-season so it was good to get out there and get the goal at the end.
"It was a quick start from them, after we went 2-0 down we made it tough for ourselves to get back in it but we put in a good effort in the second half."
Will made the move to South Bucks after leaving Sheffield Wednesday in the summer, and came to the club initially on trial.
He said: "My agent was speaking to the gaffer and he said they needed a centre half to come in. Gareth told me that I was playing half of the Brentford game and it went from there.
"It was against Championship opposition, but its good to come in to a test.
"I have really enjoyed it here. There is a great bunch of lads and I really wanted to be here as soon as I came in, they made me feel very welcome."
Playing against fellow new man Adebayo Akinfenwa in training is proving a test for the 21-year-old, but he hopes it will stand him in good stead this season.
He said: "You don't find many centre forwards to play against as him. It's hard to get round him and you can't move him because he's so strong but that will help me and the experience of playing against him - there isn't going to be anyone stronger than him so its a good experience in training."
