The Big Match Preview: Leyton Orient

16 December 2016

All you need to know ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League Two clash with Leyton Orient at Adams Park (k.o. 3pm).

Wycombe Wanderers vs Leyton Orient
Saturday 17th December 2016, k.o. 3pm
Adams Park, HP12 4HJ
Referee: Rob Lewis

Your Chairboys left the Adams Park pitch at the end of November with four consecutive wins under their belts - they return on Saturday with three more victories to show for their efforts in three different competitions away from home, and looking to keep their run going.

The surge up the table has been as rapid as it has been impressive, leaving Gareth Ainsworth's men well-placed for a prosperous second half of the season, having collected maximum points from their last five league games, as well as remaining in two cups.

And it's impossible to pin the turnaround on one factor in particular. Injuries have cleared up, the defence has found consistency with a settled line-up, the midfield three have complemented each other impeccably and whoever is deployed in attack has been doing the business, with all five forwards either scoring or assisting in the past fortnight.

Wanderers will have to do without one of those such strikers as Adebayo Akinfenwa misses out through suspension, while Paul Hayes hopes to recover in time following the knock he collected at Millwall, but Scott Kashket is definitely in contention to face the club that let him leave in August, with 10 goals in 11 appearances to show for his efforts in light and dark blue.

Myles Weston is also available again, meaning Dayle Southwell is the only player definitely ruled out by injury, while Nick Freeman and Scott Brown remain out on loan.

Orient arrive with renewed confidence having beaten Accrington 1-0 last week, with new boss Andy Edwards hoping to launch a surge up the table following a period of changes in the managerial hotseat.
