The Big Match Preview - Barnet

15 April 2016

All you need to know ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League 2 clash with Barnet at Adams Park (k.o. 3pm).

Wycombe Wanderers vs Barnet
Saturday 16th April 2016, k.o. 3pm
Adams Park, HP12 4HJ
Referee: Mr Gavin Ward

It's time for the Chairboys to get back to winning ways as they look to complete the double over Martin Allen's Bees to keep up the pace in the race for the final play-off spot in League 2.

With five games remaining, there looks to be a six-way chase for seventh place, with the sides further up the table likely to collect enough points to secure their spots in the promotion shake-up.

Wanderers won 2-0 in the reverse fixture back in August, spoiling Barnet's party in their first Football League match at their Hive Stadium, but they've since excelled on home turf, winning 12 times with only table-toppers Northampton collecting more home victories.

But away from home, only York City have won fewer than Barnet's three triumphs, although they've shown recent signs of improvement with only one away defeat in their last seven outings.

Allen hinted this week that they could be missing top scorer John Akinde, midfield playmaker Andy Yiadom and defensive rock Bira Dembele, and with nothing at stake in terms of promotion or relegation potential, the Bees boss could hand opportunities to younger members of his squad.

But regardless of how the opposition line up, Gareth Ainsworth's men know they'll need to take a positive approach as they look to recapture the form which saw them win four consecutive home matches before the recent setback against AFC Wimbledon.

Matt Bloomfield misses out with a broken arm but Ainsworth could welcome back Luke O'Nien after injury in midfield.
