Benfica and Porto were both victorious in Premier League International Cup fixtures played at Adams Park on Thursday and Friday.
Benfica overcame Celtic in front of a crowd of 366 on Thursday evening, with the Portuguese side netting a goal in each half before a late strike gave the Scots hope of salvaging a draw.Meanwhile on Friday evening, Porto survived a second-half red card shown to Jorge Fernandes to defeat FC Schalke 04, with Ismael Leon's scrambled effort enough to secure the victory, with a crowd of 118.
The games followed Athletic Club Bilbao's 3-1 success against Borussia Moenchengladbach earlier this month, while PSV take on Villarreal in the same under-21 competition at Adams Park on Tuesday 27th October (k.o. 7pm).
