Gareth Ainsworth has added extra firepower to his strikeforce with the signing of Gozie Ugwu until the end of the season. The 22-year-old forward is a free agent after leaving Yeovil Town in the summer and has recently impressed in training with the Chairboys to earn his deal.
Ainsworth said: "Gozie is an exciting striker who I've had my eye on for some time and he's done very well during his time with us.
"He offers us something different in attack and I'm sure by playing alongside two experienced players like Paul Hayes and Garry Thompson, his game will continue to develop and improve. I'm delighted to have him on board."
Gozie started out at Reading, signing his first professional contract in June 2011 before gaining first-team experience during loan spells at Ebbsfleet United, Yeovil Town, Plymouth Argyle and Shrewsbury Town.
He was part of the Royals side that won the Under-21 Premier League Cup in 2014, scoring in the first leg of the final against Manchester City, but was released at the end of his contract before moving north of the border to sign for Dunfermline Athletic.
The striker scored seven times in the first half of the season but switched to Yeovil Town in the January transfer window, finishing the campaign as the Glovers' joint top scorer with five.
