Chairboys stars lend a hand to the Legion

28 October 2015

Five of the Wanderers squad spent time selling poppies in High Wycombe town centre on behalf of the Royal British Legion.

Following the launch of the Legion's countywide Poppy Appeal at Adams Park on Saturday, Sam Wood, Danny Rowe, Alex Lynch, Max Kretzschmar and Aaron Amadi-Holloway gave up their Tuesday afternoons to help collect contributions to the appeal, which has already raised over £5,000 in the local community since Saturday.

Based outside Starbucks and Sainsburys, the players also had the chance to meet fans who spotted them and asked for photos and autographs.

The Legion have a pop-up shop inside the Eden Centre, next to the exit by Sports Direct, selling a range of items including the Wanderers' commemorative booklet of their trip to the World War I battlefields last October.
