The Big Match Preview - Portsmouth

27 November 2015

All you need to know about the visit of Portsmouth to Adams Park on Saturday (k.o. 3pm).

Wycombe Wanderers vs Portsmouth
Saturday 28th November 2015, k.o. 3pm
Adams Park, HP12 4HJ
Referee: Mr M Haywood

The biggest crowd of the season will rock up at Adams Park on Saturday for the latest feast of fan-owned football, pitting together two sides high in confidence after significant victories on Tuesday.

Wycombe have never beaten Portsmouth in the league but banished a similar jinx against Yeovil in midweek and will be in the mood to put on a show for their home fans after five weeks on the road.

Portsmouth have one of the best away records in the league, losing just once and winning five including triumphs at Luton, Plymouth and Bristol Rovers.

Their 6-0 demolition of York City in midweek ended a mini winless run as they clicked into gear in the second period, and manager Paul Cook will be hoping they can carry that momentum into the weekend.

As for Wycombe, they've won three of their four away games since their last outing on home turf and have contended well with the injuries to Joe Jacobson and Marcus Bean, with Anthony Stewart returning at centre-back and the midfield pairing of Matt Bloomfield and Luke O'Nien excelling in their two games together.

Gareth Ainsworth will hope to have Stephen McGinn and Gozie Ugwu back in the squad after absences while loan signings James Ferry and Jermaine Udumaga could make the 18 after arriving from Brentford on Thursday.
