Captain Paul Hayes has thanked the fans and the medical staff for helping him return to first-team action.Speaking to the Football League Paper for a special interview which appeared in last Sunday's edition, the striker explained of his gratitude to those supporters who invested in the club's share scheme, enabling Wanderers to purchase a shockwave therapy unit which has accelerated his return from an Achilles problem.
"It is touching and it is fantastic for me that the Trust, the board, the chairman and the management are willing to do that for me,” he said. “Hopefully I can repay them on the pitch.
“We have got a great club and the Trust have put money into the club to buy this machine. I’m ever so grateful and if it wasn’t for them I probably wouldn’t be back now."
Fans can invest anything from £100 to £100,000 over a five-year period into the scheme - click here for more details.
