Wanderers will be without Joe Jacobson and Marcus Bean until the New Year due to injury.Left-back Jacobson has aggravated a pre-existing back problem and is likely to be sidelined for four to five weeks, while Bean has sustained an ankle injury which is expected to take six weeks to heal.
However, it is hoped that the duo’s recovery times will be accelerated by new equipment which has been purchased via a combination of supporters’ share scheme investments and private funding.
Manager Gareth Ainsworth said: “JJ and Beany are important members of the squad and it’s a big blow to be without them. Any injury will stretch our small squad but to lose two experienced players has hit us hard, particularly at a busy time when games are coming thick and fast.
“However, it’s an opportunity for other players to step up and prove their abilities in the team and I’m sure whoever is selected will grab this chance with both hands.”
