Fewer miles, more smiles

17 June 2015

Blues fans will have to spend less time on the road in the 2015/16 season.

As supporters peruse the fixture list planning their away days following the team up and down the country, they can look forward to more local games against southern-based opposition following the promotion of Barnet and Bristol Rovers from the Conference, and the relegation of Leyton Orient, Crawley Town and Yeovil Town from League 1.

Meanwhile, northern clubs Burton Albion, Shrewsbury Town, Bury and Tranmere Rovers all departed League 2 at the end of the season, resulting in a reduction of 585 miles in terms of the total distance the club will travel next year.

In all, away games in the 2015/16 campaign will equate to 5,517 miles on the road, with Oxford United being the closest opponent and Carlisle United the furthest away.
