Gareth Ainsworth has welcomed a familiar face back to the club with the permanent signing of Danny Rowe from Rotherham United on a three-year deal. It’s the fifth time Ainsworth has signed the 19-year-old, having originally brought him to Adams Park on loan at the end of the 2013/14 campaign before securing three similar deals last season.
Rowe made 24 appearances in total during his loan spells, impressing both in central defence and in midfield, but was recalled by his parent club in April, ruling him out of the promotion run-in.
Ainsworth said: “It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Danny’s and he’s impressed me throughout his various loan spells with us, so I’m thrilled to be able to make his move permanent.
“He gives us options in a variety of positions and he’s got a lot of ability which I’m looking forward to developing.”
The deal includes a compensation agreement between the two clubs.
