Former attacker Paris Cowan-Hall has won the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month award for December. The 24-year-old was nominated for his explosive performances in his final few games before departing Adams Park for Championship club Millwall, where he scored three times in the month against Southend United, Accrington Stanley and Luton Town.
It was enough to earn him the coveted trophy ahead of Burton’s Alex MacDonald, York’s Luke Summerfield and Shrewsbury’s Nathaniel Knight-Percival.
Gareth Ainsworth said: “What a great accolade for Paris to leave on. It’s fantastic for him. We’ve received a couple of nominations already this season and with Paris’ goals and all-round play during December, there could only be one winner this time.
“He’s really come on and produced the football that we believed he was capable of, so the coaching staff and I are really proud. I’m sure Millwall are excited to be getting someone who’s coming off the back of such good form. It’s fantastic news for him, he deserves it and hopefully he can go on and rip the Championship up. Well done Paris.”
Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “Paris’ form has been a huge factor in Wycombe’s fortunes so far this season and they will be sad to see him go.
“However, he has earned a shot at playing in the Sky Bet Championship at Millwall. They will be hoping that he can reproduce the sort of explosive goalscoring to help them avoid the dreaded drop and I for one wish him well.”
Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery said: “Cowan-Hall earned a big move to Championship side Millwall after scoring three goals in four games in December which completed a five-match scoring streak.”
