Ingram and Wood keen to use cup win as springboard for league form

Matt Ingram and Sam Wood are keen to get back into league action after the impressive 2-1 win over Millwall in the Emirates FA Cup last week.

The pair told Chairboys PlayerHD that they are aiming to use the victory at The Den as a springboard as the Blues visit Accrington tomorrow (3pm k.o.).

“Hopefully we can take the way we played at Millwall into Saturday,” Woody said. “It’s going to be a tough game as they are doing very well this year. But if we play like we did last Saturday then I think we will come away with the three points.”

Accrington currently sit fourth in the Sky Bet League 2 table, and have won five of their last six league games.

But keeper Ingram is looking for the Blues to focus on sticking to their game plan in what is expected to be difficult conditions at the Crown Ground.

“Like us they have a small budget but they are doing well with what they’ve got so it will be a tough game,” he said.

“The pitch will be quite heavy especially with the rain and they try and play a bit more than some other teams in League 2, but we will go there and concentrate on what we do and try and impose our game on them.”
