We ask Chairboys fans to tell their story of following the club.Where do you sit/stand? Frank Adams Stand
Who do you come to games with? My Dad (fellow season ticket holder)
How long have you been a supporter? Since I was aged seven, and been a season ticket holder ever since… (2003/04 season)
What made you first start coming to matches? Being given the chance to be mascot. The rest is history…
What was your first match as a fan? Wycombe 2-5 Oldham in September 2003. I was a mascot (and it turned out to be Lawrie Sanchez’s last game in charge at Adams Park).
What has been your favourite moment supporting the club? As soon as we lost the penalty shootout at Wembley, amid a cold second or two of silence, everybody broke into applause with 15,000 other Wycombe fans. When Ainsworth almost immediately strolled onto the pitch and reciprocated the applause, I’ve never been prouder to be a Wycombe and it was a day I’ll never forget.
Who’s the best player you’ve seen during your time as a fan? Sergio Torres - the man brought pace, trickery and entertainment to the team. Very humble and a great personality as well.
Who’s been your favourite player to wear the quarters and why? Jermaine Easter. I’ll always remember him from the2006/07 season, scoring in every round played in the League Cup including the famous semi-final vs Chelsea. He also reportedly turned down Premier League moves that season, he was awarded players’ player of the season and in the League 2 team of the season. No hard feelings about him playing for Bristol Rovers now….
Tell us a funny story from your time supporting the club? On occasions at home matches, there would be the occasional announcement over the PA machine that a supporter would need to find a steward due to a problem with their car (for instance, leaving a window down or their lights on) but a personal favourite was when someone had left their engine running! Will never forget that moment of the whole stadium erupting into laughter! Also when I won the raffle prize (of £11!) at Basingstoke in the 2015 pre-season friendly!
What does the club mean to you? The fact you don’t need to support a top league club to witness passion, dedication, real hardcore fans and a real togetherness and closeness between the club and supporters.
Describe Wycombe Wanderers in three words: My second home (about 40 miles from my real one!)
