Gareth Ainsworth has secured two key players on long-term contracts with the news that Joe Jacobson and Sido Jombati will remain with the club until 2018.The defensive duo excelled during their first season at Adams Park and have been rewarded with extensions to their existing deals, which were due to expire at the end of the forthcoming campaign.
Left-back Jacobson, 28, signed from Shrewsbury Town last summer and played 49 times, scoring three goals and contributing five assists as well as playing his part in 14 clean sheets throughout the year.
Portuguese Jombati, 27, arrived from Cheltenham Town and lived up to his reputation as being an attacking right-back, excelling in the light and dark blue quarters until injury cut short his season in March after making 39 appearances.
Ainsworth said: "JJ and Sido are important members of the team and they fit perfectly into the long-term plans we are working hard to put in place here.
"As experienced members of the squad, they'll be able to help develop the younger lads and we know they will provide a consistently high standard of performance week in, week out, in what I consider to be one of the best back fives in the division."
