Wycombe Wanderers are thrilled to announce that its Adams Park stadium has been selected as the host venue for four Premier League International Cup fixtures in the 2015/16 campaign. The tournament enters its second year following a successful competition which culminated in Manchester City claiming the trophy after beating Porto in last season’s final.
Adams Park will play host to teams including Celtic, Benfica, Villarreal and PSV Eindhoven between September and December this year, with all matches to be played in midweek with a 7pm kick-off.
Wanderers chairman Andrew Howard said: “This is a significant coup for the football club to be able to attract such a prestigious tournament to Adams Park, and I’m sure our supporters and the people in our local community will share our excitement at having some of Europe’s top young players performing here in our stadium.
“Adams Park is a superb sporting facility and we’re proud to have hosted international youth fixtures plus high-profile women’s matches here in the last few years. We have always received excellent feedback as the host club and look forward to opening our doors to as many supporters as possible to enjoy these fixtures.”
The games to be played at Adams Park are as follows:
Wednesday 9th September (7pm) – Borussia Moenchengladbach vs Athletic Club Bilbao
Thursday 24th September (7pm) – Celtic vs Benfica
Friday 25th September (7pm) – Porto vs Schalke
Tuesday 27th October (7pm) – PSV Eindhoven vs Villarreal
