Gareth Ainsworth has made a spectacular addition to his squad with the capture of Hogan Ephraim on a deal until the end of the season. The 26-year-old has spent his entire career to date at a higher level, having become a popular figure at Ainsworth’s former club Queens Park Rangers before leaving the club in the summer.
Ephraim, who is equally comfortable in midfield and in attack, has represented England at various youth levels and impressed for the Blues in a pre-season friendly at Chesham United in the summer.
Ainsworth said: “The fact that we’ve signed a player of Hogan’s quality shows that players are looking at Wycombe in a different light now. He’s a great attacking option to us and he has an ability on the ball which will stand out in League 2.
“I want to add more goals to his game but the chances he creates will be a massive positive for us. He’ll bring flair and he’ll fit straight in as he knows a couple of the boys (Paul Hayes and Gary Doherty) from his time at Charlton.
“Hogan is the type of player who can win a game with one moment of magic and I’m really excited to bring him here.”
Hogan said: “I have a good relationship with the manager having worked with him at QPR and this is a chance for me to enjoy my football again.
“I want to be in an atmosphere where I can smile when I’m playing and that’s when I’m at my best. The manager and the chairman have given me the opportunity to do that here and I’m looking forward to it.
“I feel I can play anywhere across the midfield or up front, and I like to be creative. If I can bring that to the team and hopefully score a few goals then I’ll be doing my job.”
Hogan will wear squad number 31 and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's derby match with Oxford United.
