Young stars steal the show at awards ceremony

10 May 2014

Friday night's Party at the Park saw four youth-team products walk away with trophies as a reward for their superb efforts during the 2013/14 season.

Max Kretzschmar scooped Young Player of the Year while Matt McClure received the acclaim for Goal of the Season for his stylish effort against Bristol Rovers in April.

Josh Scowen was nominated Players' Player of the Year by his team-mates and Matt Ingram bagged a hat-trick, claiming Supporters' Player of the Year to add to two trophies presented to him by the Official Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Association earlier in the night.

The prize for Community Player of the Year went to Matt Bloomfield for his part in the Blues In Kenya project last summer, and Elaine Cooper is this year's Unsung Hero as recognition for more than two decades' service at the club, including her current role co-ordinating mascot experiences on a matchday.

The evening saw a packed-out Vere Suite reflect on a difficult but ultimately enthralling campaign, with a highlights package shown on the screens before compere Alan Parry chatted to Gareth Ainsworth, Stuart Lewis and the award winners.

Wanderers would like to thank everyone who attended this special event, and congratulate the six award winners on their well-deserved success.
