Stevie's staying

25 May 2014

Blues striker Steven Craig has signed a new one-year contract to remain with the club, we are pleased to announce.

The Scotsman scored five times in his first season in English football, including vital penalties against Dagenham & Redbridge and Torquay United during the club's successful survival mission towards the end of the year.

Craig, 33, joined Wanderers last summer after a trial period having made a name for himself north of the border with Motherwell, Ross County and Partick Thistle amongst others.

He said: "I'm delighted to extend my stay. It was an easy decision to make after speaking to the manager, Richard Dobson and Barry Richardson."

Steven is the latest player to pledge his commitment to Gareth Ainsworth's squad for the 2014/15 season, following Gary Doherty, Sam Wood and new signings Paul Hayes, Aaron Pierre and Sido Jombati.

The thoughts of Ainsworth on recent developments, including Craig's extension, will follow next week.
