Gareth Ainsworth could have a near fully-fit squad to choose from for Saturday’s game at Torquay United (k.o 3pm).
Aaron Pierre is fit to play after the head injury he sustained against Bristol Rovers, while Paris Cowan-Hall (ankle) and Dean Morgan (groin) will be further assessed today (Thursday) and tomorrow.
Ainsworth said: “Pierre is going to be fine to play, in defence of the medical team and the doctor Aaron did stop bleeding at half-time, but you know what Aaron’s like.
“He loves getting his head anywhere and sticking his head in, so I think he almost broke the football record of wearing different shirts in a game. He’s a great, great warrior for us.
“He’s in top condition, really looks after himself and I think he’s been a huge asset to us lately with Danny Rowe. They’ve been brilliant on loan and I’m pleased to have had them. Everyone else will be in contention - Gary Doherty and JP are the only definite no’s at the moment.
“Obviously Paris and Dean were doubts for last week and again we’ll have to have a look at them. It’s difficult to say whether we could stick them in, but we’ve got lads in this squad ready to go.
“We’ve got goals in the squad I know we have, it’s just getting them out on Saturday. If we can do that and other things can go our way then everyone can have this fairytale ending that I want so desperately.”
