Gareth Ainsworth has taken another huge step in the development of his squad for the 2014/15 season with the capture of Aaron Pierre on a three-year contract.
The 21-year-old defender, who excelled during a loan spell at Adams Park during the latter stages of last season, arrives from newly-promoted Championship side Brentford after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed compensation agreement.
Ainsworth said: “It’s been no secret that I wanted to bring Aaron back to the club and I’m delighted to make him a Wycombe Wanderers player for the next three years.
“He was outstanding for us during his short loan spell and I know the fans will be pleased to see him back in the light and dark blue quarters.
“He’s strong, quick, comfortable with the ball, he's equally comfortable at left back and in the centre, and he has all the attributes to go a long way in the game.”
Aaron arrived at the club at the end of February and played eight times for the Chairboys, scoring a crucial equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Northampton Town on Good Friday.
He played a pivotal part in the club’s successful survival mission and impressed at left-back on the final day of the season at Torquay United, helping the team secure a third clean sheet since his arrival.
The news follows Gary Doherty's decision to sign his contract for another year, meaning Ainsworth's squad is taking shape nicely following the capture of Paul Hayes on a two-year deal on Tuesday.
