Chairboys boss Gareth Ainsworth made two changes from the win at Exeter with Matt McClure and Steven Craig replacing Reece Styche (international duty) and Paris Cowan-Hall who dropped to the bench. Aaron Pierre was also been named on the bench after joining on loan from Brentford on Friday.
Southend got us underway with Wanderers shooting right to left in the first half. Soon into the second minute there was a foul by White which Kretzschmar took from left and it was cleared by Leonard.
A promising start from the Wanderers resulted in a corner to Wycombe following searing ball from Scowen which was taken short by Kretzschamar but ultimately collected by Bentley. In the 4th minute Hurst tried a dipping shot but didn’t trouble Ingram.
Ex-Chairboy Straker tried his luck down the right in the 7th minute but was thwarted by stern defending from Wood. In the 13th minute Corr's flick set Straker free but Scowen read it impressively to deny the hosts a clear break.
The 24th minute saw a cross in by Southend but Straker couldn’t find any power and headed straight into Ingram’s open arms.

Half-time Southend 0-0 Wanderers
The Chairboys got us underway for second half with nothing of noteworthy until the 52nd minute when Corr caught Johnson late resulting in a stern talking to by referee Mark Heywood.
Another free kick to Wyombe following a foul on Scowen was taken by Wood and came to Kretzschamr who appealed for hand ball following his shot but this gained no reaction from the referee and the appeals were waved away.
There was good work from Southend down the right but lead to nothing but a shot in the 60th minute from Straker just inside penalty area was pulled wide.
A corner taken by Hurst in the 63rd minute led to the first goal of the game with Scowen unable to prevent the ball from hitting the back of the net from Corr’s header.
A double substitution from Ainsworth quickly followed in the 65th minute with Cowan-Hall on for Arnold and Morgan replacing Craig.
Just 4 minutes after Southend taking the lead a long range shot by Cowan-Hall hit the underside of the bar and struck the goalkeeper on the back resulting in the ball trickling over the line – the goal was awarded as own goal, although there will be no doubt in Cowan-Hall trying to claim it.
The final change for the Chairboys came in the form of Kuffour on for McClure on 77 minutes.
A yellow card was produced for Coker for holding Kuffour back after a through ball by Morgan earned him the first card of the game in the 79th minute, quickly followed by the first change for Southend with Payne on for Atkinson in 80th minute.
A shot from Morgan in the 85th minute forced a save by Bentley but this was quickly followed by a foul by Bloomfield resulting in a yellow card for the Wycombe skipper.
Barnard replaced Straker late on whilst Morgan received a yellow card for a foul.
It was end to end in final few minutes with both sides having chances including a shot from Morgan in added time coming in from left which just clipped the bar and went behind for a goal kick.
