New signing Peter Murphy says his move to Wycombe was fuelled by a striking first impression of what the Blues had to offer.Speaking to Geoff Doyle and Luke Ashmead on BBC Three Counties Radio's Monday Night Sport Show, the former Accrington Stanley man said he knew he wanted to join Gareth Ainsworth's squad as soon as he first held talks with the club:
"I just felt wanted," he said. "I spoke to the manager, his assistant and a few other people at the club, and they were keen to get me there. Now I just can't wait to get started.
"I went down for a chat with the manager and came away really impressed with him, the staff and the training ground."
Murphy played a key part in Accrington's own survival mission last season, scoring nine times mostly from a midfield role, and says he is confident of avoiding another struggle with the Wanderers this time around:
"Wycombe should be higher in the league than where they finished, and hopefully we can do that this season.
"I had a good season in midfield for Accrington and hopefully I can carry on playing there, but I'm happy to play anywhere."
