Wycombe Wanderers are delighted to announce that 24-year-old Peter Murphy has agreed to join the club on a two-year contract, with effect from 1st July.
The Accrington Stanley man, who is equally comfortable in midfield and defence, may be a familiar name to Wanderers fans after bagging a last-minute equaliser for Stanley when the two sides met in November.
It was one of nine goals Murphy contributed in 47 appearances last season before deciding to leave the Reds this summer, having joined them at the age of 16 and playing 176 times in total over seven years.
Assistant manager Richard Dobson said: “We’ve kept a close eye on Peter’s progress and seen him develop as a player over the years, so we know he fits the character and work ethic that we want at the club.
“He’s a utility player who has shown he’s capable of scoring goals from midfield, so we’re really looking forward to welcoming him to Wycombe Wanderers.”
Peter's contract includes an option for a third year, dependent on appearances.
