The Big Match Preview - Chelsea

16 July 2014

All you need to know ahead of the visit of Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea for Matt Bloomfield's testimonial on Wednesday night (k.o. 7.45pm).

We have today (Wednesday) been informed that the West Wycombe Road will be closed between the Pedestal Roundabout and Chapel Lane from 7pm. Supporters are therefore urged to find an alternative route into and away from the ground.

More than 6,500 tickets have been sold for this special fixture, with hundreds more likely to be sold on the day of the game. To reduce queues on the night, fans are urged to book in advance where possible.

Chelsea fans will be housed in both the Panache Stand behind the goal, and the Beechdean Stand behind the dugouts, with limited availability remaining.

Home fans have the choice of the Terrace or the Frank Adams Stand, and tickets for both stands can be purchased on the night. The Family Stand has already virtually sold out.

Prices start at £15 for adults, £10 for seniors and young adults, £5 for juniors and under 7s go free – click here or call 01494 441118 to secure your spot.

Team News
Chairboys fans will get a first glimpse of new signings including Peter Murphy, Joe Jacobson, Paul Hayes and Aaron Pierre while of course Matt Bloomfield is set to feature in his testimonial fixture.

Chelsea’s provisional squad, managed by Jose Mourinho, includes star names such as John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic, Demba Ba, Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah, as well as a number of highly-rated young talents.

Supporting PACE
Matt Bloomfield is delighted to be supporting the PACE charity in the form of a collection outside the ground ahead of kick-off. Please donate generously and read here for more info.

A special testimonial edition of the matchday programme will be on sale for just £3, including a feature-length interview with Matt Bloomfield, tributes to ‘Mr Wycombe’ from team-mates past and present, the thoughts of manager Gareth Ainsworth and a special message from Chelsea skipper John Terry. Pick up your copy from one of our team of volunteers around the ground.

Members of the squad, plus some familiar returning faces, will be meeting fans in the bars from 6.15-6.45pm, while a Q&A will also take place in the Vere Suite ahead of the game. Hang around after the match as well, when Matt Bloomfield will visit the Vere Suite to address supporters.

Transport and Parking
Wanderers would like to urge fans to arrive early at the ground to ease congestion and reduce queues gaining access to the stadium. A cash turnstile facility will be in place in the terrace.

Please note that there will be very limited parking around the ground due to the high demand for tickets. To ease the traffic, an extra bus will run in addition to the usual service at the following times:

Wycombe Railway Station - 17.50 and 18.50
Eden Bus Station - 18.00 and 19.00
Cressex Park & Ride - 18.10 and 19.10
Adams Park - 18.20 and 19.20

Adams Park - 21.45
Cressex Park & Ride - 21.55
Eden Bus Station - 22.05
Wycombe Railway Station - 22.15

Tickets cost £2 for a single, £3 for a return, and free of charge for under 16s and concessionary bus pass holders.

Food & Drink
The club are pleased to introduce a new range of food choices from its kiosks around the stadium, with some new additions and improvements to old favourites. Please do try one of the new items available and feed your thoughts back to after the game.

Chelsea fans will be able to grab a pre-match drink in the marquee in the car park, which is for visiting fans only, while Blues supporters will be accommodated in the Scores Bar and Vere Suite.

There will also be food concessions available in the car park before the game.
