Sam and Paris score in practice match win

10 July 2014

Blues enjoyed their first taste of match action on Thursday night with a 3-0 victory over Maidenhead United in a practice match behind closed doors.

Sam Wood opened the scoring on the half-hour mark from Paris Cowan-Hall's cross, and the creator turned goalscorer five minutes later when he doubled the scores.

A trialist striker stretched the lead to three after the break and the Blues ran out comfortable winners against the Conference South outfit.

Manager Gareth Ainsworth said: "I'm very happy with the workout and it's good for the lads to be playing football again. Most importantly, there were no knocks so it was a pleasing evening all round."

Wanderers fans can get their first glimpse of the side in action in Saturday's friendly at Cheshunt, which kicks off at 1pm.
